We just returned from a memorial service for one of the 6 Airmen that were KIA in Bagram just before Christmas. We towed our TT to the fam camp at Fort Sam Houston. My wife is OSI and I'm recently retired OSI. It is truly a tight family, and even though I didn't know Special Agent Michael Cinco, it felt like I lost a brother. Hats off to all of you both AD and retired. Live life and don't sweat the small stuff.

I was a 4815 (Maintenance Officer). I was in the active Army from 1973 to 1979, left and then joined the NJ Guard, from 1979 to 1983. Duty posts were Fort Hood Tx and Niblo Barracks in Korea. I was a Captain and if I stayed in the NJARG I would have made Major.

When I enlisted in the AF in 1966 they guaranteed me my choice of jobs. I scored well on the electronics portion of the test and was selected for air traffic control school. While waiting for the next class to start some general decided to empty our barracks and made everyone waiting cooks. It's funny though, we had great food in Vietnam nam, ate well. When I went to Phu cat ab I was 6'7 226lbs, I came home a year later at 6'7 170lbs. There's a lot to be said for the agent orange weight loss diet. Along with being a cook I was an agumentee guard and would help security when needed.

Enlisted in USMC in 1970. Trained as a Mortar man (0341). I was later assigned as a company clerk and became an Admin/Personnel Clerk (0151). In 1982 I was appointed a Warrant Officer and my MOS changed to Personnel Officer (0170). In 1985 I became an LDO and retired as a Captain in 1991.

PMEL - Precision Measuring Equipment Lab. One of the cushier jobs in the AF - but also one of the most important also.
