Kind of the same with airplanes - B52H's and KC135's are getting up in age. I read the last of B52's might last until the 2040s making them almost 100 years old.

Cushy indeed - cool in the summertime and warm in the wintertime. Just the opposite of the flight lines.

I enlisted on the delayed enlistment program and wanted a job that would transition easily to the civi world. PMEL was the 2nd longest school in the AF so how could I go wrong...? I think B1B Nav school was the only MOS longer. The 1st job the recruiter offered was Comm Antenna Repair. The class was 4 weeks (I'm sure 2 of that was how not to fall).

I met so many people from other branches and other countries through my career choice. I was sad to see the military transition the job function out to Raytheon contracts. But it did transition well!
