USN 01-07, EM2(SS) at EoAS. Great Lakes RTC('01-'02)=>Charleston NNPTC('02)=>MTS-626 Daniel Webster prototype ('03)=>USS Norfolk SSN-714 (refueled, recert '03-'05)=>Small stint on medical TAD at NSN SURFLANT('06)=>USS Hyman G. Rickover SSN-709(decom '06-'07)
Now: Maintenance Technician for a medical device manufacturer. I repair hydraulic metal forming presses and mechanical punch presses as well as all of the facility equipment.
Would probably have re-enlisted, but had received full custody of my son and needed to put him first.
Great to see some old salty dogs on here. Thanks to all who serve, have served, or support those who serve. It is very appreciated! Also, remember to take some time this weekend to honor friends and family who didn't make it back. They are the real heroes.

I can't believe only 23 posts and 4 are from F'n nukes?!?! ET2(SS) USS Salt Lake City (SSN716) '90-'94.. What is it with Submariners and TTs? Do we subconciously love small spaces? Cramped quarters? Stowing everything securely in it's place?

What can I say, I like 'em tight. I did scare the GF when I tried to rig the TT for silent ops by turning off the A/C and unplugging the microwave, rigged for dive by shutting all the doors and windows, but she really doesn't like when I tell her we are hot racking and I call her my "rack mate". Damn civies...

Time will tell. I can't say I think it is a great idea (logisticaly nor economicaly), but I applaud them for making an effort. I have heard stories of what goes on aboard the surface ships and that might be amplified in confined spaces. Anyways, on with the thread! /endhijack

Spent four of my four and a half years in Beeville, Texas. Now some sort of a state prison I think. Were a few WAVES around I think, But don't think I would want to put up with what is going on in the new armed forces. Wayne

USNR, with 2 years active duty, 68-70, aboard the USS Vega AF59. Worked out of the hydraulic shop. Left as engine 3rd Class. Spent most of those 2 years hauling food from Subic Bay to Nam.
