Then there are people like me. Was not raised around the military and never thought about joining until it was too late. I REALLY appreciate everything all of you who have and are serving have done and do for us!! Luckily, thames band I am in is led by a guy who was in the Army. We have played for several military events, including events for Guard members families at a local base who are deployed overseas. We gave also played for Rolling Thunder (POW/MIA) events. I feel great pride every time I hear the SSB and sometimes cannot stop tears. Thank you all and your families and I wish I could shake everyone's hand!

Went in right out of High School in '77. Loved every day of it!

View out my old office window and from the backside too!

Did my 20 years a little different. USMC Oct 70 - Oct 74. At the time I was married and Marines were still very much the fact that "What are you doing with a family. We didn't issue that family so you don't need it" attiude so I got out (big mistake hind site being 20/20). With the reccession going on and no jobs available, after 30 day of looking, I went into the Army. Stayed there till May 91 = 20years 5 months and 2 days of service between the 2 services.

Not the same, I know. I did 7 years as a civilian consultant with the D.O.D.
Spent my time at Fort Bliss, Fort Hood, White Sands, Eglin AFB, Peterson AFB, and ended at Hanscom AFB in Jan. 2004.

My sincerest appreciation to all those that serve
