Loch and Huey pilot during Vietnam period. Exciting times. Had an opportunity to get out a year early and I took it. Wife and I are returning to camping after a 45 year absence when we were tenting.

Army - 93B - Aeroscout, flew in the little OH-58D at Rucker. Sent out early due to "size" issues on their part and their cockpit designers!

Flew one of those for a couple of months while I was waiting for a Cobra transition. I was folded in half the whole time!

Tell me about it! They sent around 100-200 of us home when we all couldn't fit! We were among the first for the new D and we were all way too tall. Fit fine in the UH1 trainers...

Air Force! 1976-1997. I started as a 321x2 - F4 Weapon Control Systems. The year I made E-7 I was forced to retrain. Was given 3 choices, but ended up as a 465x0 - Munitions Accountability. Within 2 years we merged with 461x0 AMMO (IYAAYAS!) When I retired they had re-numbered all AFSC's and we were 2W0x1's.
DH was Air Force also. 1977-1999. Didn't know him when he was in, but he started out as a 462x0 - Munitions Loader and later retrained to Communications and spent 8 years as a training instructor.
