Just saw some kind of advertisement on TV that featured a woman warrant officer who had served in the Middle East; Army I believe. So I'd say WO is still a valid military position.

Yes, Warrant Officers are still a military rank in the military.

Ok - since I'm the one who said here that I THOUGHT the wo was done away in the U.S. Military with the E-8 and E-9 grades,I did some research and found that the the wo rank is alive in the U.S. Army,U.S. Navy and Coast Guard, and U.S. Marines.

It is NOT a rank in the U.S. Air Force.

Pa1904 what troop? I was with 159th at bragg in 1995 to 97 when we moved to Ft. Polk. Then moved to Ft. Lewis in 2005. All Cav!

I was with I co 4/159th. Depot company. You were prob a line unit, right? In Lewis in 06' we stood up 4/160th SOAR.

I spent 30 years flying helicopter gunships as a US Army Warrant Officer. I can guarantee that there are still some of us around.
