DH was in the Navy for 4 years before we met. I'm very proud of him and all of our vets.

GO ARMY!! OOOHH RAAAA!!!

Kind of makes me wonder. I spend most of my forum time over on the boating boards. I go boating more than I go Rv-ing. Just saying. RV is land based activity and boating is ...well, usually water based. Maybe more of my fellow sailors are boating rather than RV-ing. Curious how many RVers are also boaters. I count boaters as folks that mostly go boating for boating sakes, not fishing. I figure a true boater/sailor waves to other boaters when he is out on the water, and he actually names his boat. But I guess each gets to decide for himself or herself about being a boater. But that is my guess why Army guys and gals are beating us sailors on this forum.

Army's bigger than the rest of the services:

"In June 2013, more than 2.7 million people served in the Armed Forces. More than 1.4 million were on active duty, including about 529,679 in the Army, 329,332 in the Air Force, 317,828 in the Navy, and 194,808 in the Marines."

My wife, Murelene, was in the first womans class that had to go through the "Mens" basic training class at Fort Benning (I think that was the place), I know she was stationed at Fort Eustis for a while after basic, back in 1976. When she got out of high school, she couldn't decide what to do so she went and talked to an army recruiter. The recruiter asked her what she liked to do. Murelene told him she liked to "fish" so he conned her into becoming a "boat operator" In the two years she was in, she never did put a fishing pole in the water.

Thank you for that, it's true. I am so comfortable when I go back on a base. Going to camp on one Thursday, as a matter of fact.
