Any one else ride one of these?

Fairly new to this forum but have had a 2008 Yamaha Venture since March 2010. Here she is from a couple of years ago when I had set, and met, a goal to ride at least once every month of the year.

Rode street bikes since I was 15. I sold my last bike, Buell M2L, a few years ago. Lower back issues just won't let me enjoy more than a 30 minute ride any more.

I have an 06 midnight Venture. I didn't get to ride so much this year because of arm surgery, and now it's getting into winter. If there is no snow or ice and not too cold I would take it out all winter long for a short run. The salt and corrosion on the road is not good either. Since we got our Class A, I try to get away more with the DW and enjoy that. One of my big highlights was riding The Tail Of The Dragon and all around North Carolina, and Tennessee mountains. 7 days and 1200 miles. Ride em safe!!!!!!

Shortkid: Sorry to hear of the surgery. Around here (Omaha) they use a lot of sand/gravel with the salt - gotta be careful of that stuff! We were in the southeast recently but without the bike. Would love to hit those roads someday. Our highlights have been a 6 day tour thru Arkansas and a 5 days thru western Nebraska and the Black Hills of S. Dakota last year. We often visit friends in SW Missouri and ride thru the Ozark twisties down there.

How do you pull it behind your RV. I bought a Harley Street 750....wet weight 480#, thinking I could get a rack for the back that holds 500 pounds. All that is fine, except the Georgetown 328TS can tow 5000#....and the owners manual says that means the hitch can hold 500#. If you add the bike and the rack, I'm now over the 500#. So am not sure what to do. I want to take the bike, but don't want to overstress the hitch. Any ideas????

I also have an 08 Venture I used to ride it it every chance I got. But it seems the only time I get to ride now is to work and back. Not a very fun ride all highways. I am going to try and make some more time to ride this coming spring.
Ride safe to all that ride.

I ride a 1700cc Yamaha Road Star Siverado. Being in Florida I ride all year. I've been riding street bikes since I was 17 with a break when I got married and had children and no money to buy a bike. Love it!!!

I currently have an 02 Honda ST1100 that I still ride every chance I get.
My son and I used to camp and ride the twisties in northern Arkansas 3-4 times a year until he got a new job and I bought an RV. I built a trailer to carry our camping gear and we would spend 3 days camping and riding.

I agree with the comments reference bad backs. I purchased a new Honda Goldwing a few years back and added somewhere around $3500.00 worth of after market comfort accessories. GREAT BIKE. I had intended to take it on camping outings but now am forced to sell due to the back. Anyone interested?

lightweight Dual Sport (under 350 Lbs.) is a great addition to any stable of bikes. Easy to haul, easy to maintain, and easy to ride off road. I bought a Yamaha WR250R new in 2008, and it now has 35,000 miles on it. In addition to ridden miles, it has been hauled at least 25,000 miles on RV Adventures.

Let's you ride where no jeep, car, or street bike can really go. Even in snow.

Light enough to carry even on a pop-up.

Some hard cases even tow them with their street bikes.

Of course, you gotta have a proper street bike too,,,,,

I rode a Harley Davidson ElectraGlide and my husband rode a Harley Davidson Road King for 10 years before selling them to get Can Am Spyders in 2013. We are now thinking of selling them to get a couple of dual sport bikes.

I've been riding since I was 13. My current ride is a 2004 Yamaha FJR 1300. Be safe out there.

My DW and I rode it to Myrtle Beach back before we started our family 22 years ago. I don't ride much these days because of a bad lower back. Riding is not the problem, it's getting on and off and backing up. I've thought about a Can-Am Spyder.
