Question Motorcycle lift

I have a 250cc motorcycle and thinking about getting a power lift to carry it on the rear of my motorhome - can anyone recommend a certain carrier device? And this will be used where I am just running off battery power. Which is preferable, electric lift or hydraulic?

Jerry, I don't have an answer, but if you ask the question in the Lifestyle > Motorcycles page someone might have something useful to add. There might even be some info already listed there.

Here ya go Jerry...some options starting with the lift option:
Cruiserlift RV Motorcycle Lift System
Then there is the hitch/ramp option at about 1/6 the price but limited to 500 lb bike with the standard class 3 hitch.
| Versahaul
Then there is the swivel wheel option for heavier bikes.
The ultimate single wheel trailer system.

I carry two 150cc ish scooters (roughly 550 lbs) on the back of my Georgetown on a dual cycle carrier which can carry 600lbs. but I had the class 3 hitch removed and replaced with a class 4 and everything has worked great. One thing I would note is to get the LONGEST ramp with any carrier you can as it makes it easier to roll the bikes up and on. I had joehauler.com make my carrier and am very pleased with his quality and his hitch stabilzer system. He also has lots of pre-made units to fit your individual needs.

Good luck and yell if I can help further.

I used the versahauler to carry my Sym RV 200 cc Scooter on the back of my Sunseeker 2900. Only cost about $500. I was able to load it and unload it by myself after securing the ramp with wood so there was no movement. The scooter went about 350 pounds.

Versahauler

But since the versahauler does not lift, and you have to drive it up on to the ramp, I am afraid to even try that. I can easily see me falling over and breaking an arm. I really need a carrier that I can load at ground level then power lift it up to traveling position. I am mainly wondering which would be better, an electric lift or hydraulic. Then I saw one hydraulic lift that is electric powered, so I don't get the point to that

I would never drive it up the ramp, I push it, sometimes the DW helps me.

If you are still looking for a solution at a reasonable price I have a cruiser lift with mist shield, tow extention to allow towing of car behind lift, all electrical cabling including switch in very good condition. You would only need to purchase the receiver hitch that welds to your coach. (approx. $500 from cruiserlift but could be fabricated locally for much less) This unit is stored in my garage and in very good condition. It came off my previous motorhome. Price $1800. It will handle any bike on the market to include full dresser Harley or Gold wing.

To WVPHIL

I would like to buy it from you. I am buying a new Georgetown in about a year, and I don't have a place to keep it until then. If you will keep in touch, I will check back when I am ready for it. My e-mail is: Jerry@DixonEnt.com
