Here's an old photo of the pack bungee corded to the back of my 1972 Norton. Definitely not the coolest set-up, but it worked.

Used to tie the sleeping bag up under the front head light and the pack behind me. Funny I was out on old route 70 some years back O well a lot of years ago. Came up one side of the hill in a pouring rain thinking about the one little shelter on the down side of the Mountain and how it had a cover over one picnic table. When I got there another biker was already laid out on the table and it was a guy I hadn't seen in 12 years. So we shared the picnic table and talked half the night about rides we had done in the past years.
