Sturgis and camping

Been going to Sturgis for a long time but always stayed in Rapid City or Deadwood. now with the 5th wheel I cant think of the names of any of the camp ground we would drive past. Dont want the loud crowd like Glenco etc.

Anyone have any ideas of some nice places? I thought there was a nice camp ground in Deadwood but the hills gooing there can get pretty steep and curvy.

Try Rush-no-more. right off of I-90 between Rapid city and Sturgis, closer to Sturgis, Quite and there is a small bar there you can walk up to and have a few drinks, met a few friends there we still keep in contact with, There are a few others right around that area.

Noticed you posted under motorcycles topic so I’ll assume it is during Sturgis.

If you want a nice place with full hookup and no frills call Zak at Bulldog Creek.

Not a paved , developed place but was quiet with bunch of people and near 80 not too far from downtown.

DaBus stops there and he had bands lined up to play there during the 75th when we went.

Great guy too.

He is actually a rancher and the campground is only open during Sturgis but none of us that went that year would hesitate to go back. Spent all day driving around in his 4 wheeler making sure everyone was good, picking up trash, etc etc.

If you talk to him tell him you heard about it from the chocolate martini group that was at the 75th. We may have supported his drinking the 2 weeks we were there [emoji3]

Katmandu just two miles east of Sturgis on 90. Has it's own bar, free shuttle to town if you don't want to ride. Stayed there twice. Friendly. I think it was around $800 or so for a 10 day stay. I think you have to pay for the whole stay even if you go there for 3 or 4 days. Only downside.

Thanks for the reply and yes it woulod be in the beginning of sturgis like arriving that Thursday and leaving on Wednesday. Like I said I remember so many cool wones when I was riding but didnt have a Rv to camp. Now I got one and can barley remember where some of them were.

Like to find one that had improved sites maybe even drive through sites. Kind of a resort type setting.

Try Chris's Camp in Spearfish. Little on the high side price wise, bot can stay how many days you would like.
Have reservations for 4 nights this year and then heading to Yellowstone for a week. Give them a call, real nice to deal with.

We stay at Chris's campground in Spearfish, it's pretty quite after 10 and has a couple pools to cool off in after a hot afternoons ride.
