2015 1640 series manual crank help

Hello all.
I hope this isn't a repetitive question (can't find similar question in the forums).
I recently purchased a 2015 1640 ltd series pop up. Practising backing up was a blast. So far my spouse and I are getting pretty good at set up and take down. The owners manual is a little sketcy and I'm not finding the answer on youtube.
Here's my small problem: this afternoon I decided to try and raise the roof on my pop up manually. I inserted the crank handle onto the side of the electric control that raises and lowers the roof but while I was turning the handle I didin't see any movement of the top. I tried turning both directins but no movement detected. Yes, all the latches were undone. Anyone know what the secret is to get the top to move manully? I just want to know how to do this incase of a battery failure.
Any tips or tricks would be much appreciated.
Thabk you in advance.
