3D printable items
Anyone else here do 3D printing? I been printing some items for my trailer, Dometic fridge airing card, Fridge bracket to hold things in place, Trailer Plug Cover, RV Awning Pull Rod Clip. I am sure there's more out there I haven't found to print

No, but my son does 3D printing and you just gave me an idea of something for him to print..... I made a "wedge" to stick in the handles of my 4door fridge to keep it from opening while traveling. I bet he can reproduce that into a one piece deal.

I've been running a industrial grade 3D printer for over 10 years and am quite proficient with 3D CAD modeling among other things. I've prototyped a lot of parts on the RV, awning pole brackets, registers, pieces you can't get to repair day night shades, clips to keep HAB sofa drawers in, etc. If I can think it, I can do it, but you pretty much need to know parametric modeling to get your idea to a format that will make the printer dance

3d printing
Yes, most of those little items can be found in Thingiverse, if not I use Tinkercad to design it if I need it. Such as a 3/4" and 19 mm drill socket, used at 100% infil, this item is for raising and lowering the scissors jack with your drill at the lowest speed. Here is my link to my designs https://www.thingiverse.com/Night_Stone/designs

I'm fortunate to have a full blown CNC shop where I work. They allow employee's to ask engineers to make small pieces....must be able to be done in one day or less, and small material fee. May take time as production parts come first and only when it can be fit into a slow period. We work with Plastic, Aluminum, Stainless steel, Lexan, Kynar, PVC, PTFE, PEEK, Tefon...etc.

Haven't heard of the Tinker CAD before. I'll have to check it out. Too bad the high schools don't offer the shop classes any more around here. Makes us old mechanics/ machinists harder to come by for these companies that are technology driven. Not something you learn overnight

This would probably require a CNC to make out of aluminum, but the plastic end of the window latch is a very poor choice of material. The stop screw used to secure the plastic end that goes into the window's bottom channel can be easily over-tightened at the factory causing the plastic to eventually break with use. It should have been made out of metal.

I created an open group on the forum to allow the sharing of design files that members have created. Hopefully this will keep most of them in a common location so they are easy to find.

Night Stone,
You can get to the Group by clicking on the "Community" drop-down menu item on the same banner as the "User CP". See the image below:

Thank you.
It is a group within the forum not a file or link.
