back in the 1970's and 1980's when i installed a lot of kitchens we used steel wool to fill gaps to keep out the mice and "arrogant insects" (or palmento bugs, as they call them down south) . But now I like the plastic fibers better, no issues with rust and less breaking fibers. Injecting a little foam into the fibers does a good job sealing the gap.

I HATE MICE!!! More than you will ever know!!! So when we got our camper I purchased some Fresh Cab bags form Earth Kind... they seem to work... no mice ...so far!!! (knock wood!) Check it out.

We had a mouse problem a few years ago due to construction around us. We had them in our house and camper, tried several different things and finally had sucess using the electronic devices. They worked in the basement of our house and in the camper. I haven't seen any signs of mice since.
