Awning Lights

Very confused looking for Led awning lights for my 2014 2670 Tracer Travel Trailer. I have a 15' awning and would like to install lighting I don't have to remove every time I retract the awning. I know there are other discussions out there I just done mm to find them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is our first TT or any kind of RV for that matter.

This thread will give you way more than you need, but the first few pages detail some options for mounting the LED strip under the edge of the awning, which allows them to be permanently mounted.

My solution to awning lights

Just be aware, these things aren't the most durable, but they are cheap enough on e-Bay that you can buy a new strip every couple years. Lots of choices - white, multi-colored, dual light strips, fancy remotes... They all install pretty much the same.

I installed a strip of LED lights I got from my dealer when I bought my trailer. gave me a deal on them that day. Originally I installed them on the awning tube, so they rolled up each time. I moved them to the trailer, right under the awning. The lights are waterproof so they stay attached but the controller that plugs into them is not waterproof so it has to get stowed when I pack up, also have to bring it in if it rains while I'm camping.. kind of a PITA and if I had it to do over again I would consider not installing them... I guess plugging in the controller each time is less hassle than stringing party lights on the awning tho, but then again the party lights don't have to be brought in if it rains.

I got around that problem when I replaced mine by running new wire down the back side of the awning support. The controller got mounted on the inside of the passthrough where the factory wiring came out. All I had to do was splice into the factory wiring for the old strip and velcro the box to the side of the storage wall. The remote sensor I ran back out the same hole and left it peaking out the bottom of the awning support. With everything on the inside, you don't need to disconnect anything and it stays dry.

I too ran a set down my awning tube and just connect/disconnect when using the awning. It all boils down to confidence and skill level. I'm happy with how mine turned out. Click image for larger version

Ooooo! I have just the switch that dims and dances. Might have to upgrade for that price.
