Baggage Doors & Solar on our 220RBS

This is an easy mod. I bought two more thumb locks and moved the key lock to the center of the baggage doors on both side of the camper. Now I don't need a key every time I need to get into the baggage area but I can lock it when I need to.
I also added two pic's of the solar powered USB charging station, I added to the end Kitchen upper cabinet near the outside door.

love the charging station set up. Quick question from a guy that is not well versed in electrical terminology, know enough to get in trouble... so do you have that solar panel going to a battery then from the battery up to an inverter (looks like a small inverter right on the charging station)? Is it hooked to your main battery for the camper or a separate one?

We mostly boondock and someday i need to do something like this. i have old spare battery and small inverter from Harbor Freight that i am going to try and hard wire somewhere this year but would like solar to trickle into my spare and main battery

The solar panel is connected to a 12 volt solar controller (See pic) which is connected to two 12 volt batteries. The solar controller will not over charge the batteries and when topped off it does the needed maintenance on the batteries, it will float them once a month too.

So all 12 volt circuits including the USB charges that I added are solar powered. I tapped the USB chargers into the 30 amp slide-out circuit.

I don't use an inverter to change the 12 volts to 110 volts. I leave the power at 12 volts. the only two thinks I can't run is the AC and the microwave. I added a good 12 volt fan in the bed area ceiling vent and a 12 volt TV with a DVD player built into the TV.

I will add a pic after I trim out the fan.

thanks for the details. would you mind telling me your rough cost into this? looks like a pretty basic set up compared to others i have seen. i love my camper but Palomino did not utilize space as good as my old roo. The roo had an extra bin or cupboard in ever available space, like above the beds (was open with little railing to keep stuff in). I stand and look around my Palo all the time thinking, i could add storage behind that panel, add 12v plugs there, but am too afraid to pull panels or walls apart and find i was wrong and not cant get it back together. I am slightly hand but no professional.

guys on this site make me jealous with their modifications they do

Solar panels are about $1.00 per watt. I have a 120 watt panel and this controller that I bought from this website for $150.00. With the wires and mounts about $400.00. I might add one more panel and two more batteries. About $350.00 more. The batteries are the expensive part. I also bought my solar panel and wires from Solar Blvd.

thanks again for the info, that isnt bad. I wouldnt mind putting 4-500 into a set up like this. We typically only camp 5 - 7 days in a row max and really have to be careful on power usage. we dont use much in the camper, but with 5 kids forgetting to turn off the lights, all of us liking a fan by our bed at night, awning, radio.... ya i need some solar lol

Finished installing the new shower head

Here are some pic's of the Oxygenics shower head. I also then added a adjustable Shower Slide Bar. It works very good, could not be happier. I added the links to these items.
