Bal x chocks with close axle spacing

Hi folks!

We have a 2109S coming in soon, I want to reduce trailer movement as much as possible, looking to use the Xchocks.

Question is the 2109S has the tires pretty close together, anyone here using the Xchocks with a 2109S or similarly close axle/tire spacing?

There is a regular size and a large size, get the regular size and they will work.
I have a Rockwood 8311WS with very narrow spacing between the tires and they work for me.
Have to close them all the way before they will fit between the tires.

On our '08 Roo and '14 Flagstaff, I used our x-chocks. Initially for the Roo, I elongated the slide holes a bit. Helped immensely in the ability to slide the chocks in between the tires with little effort.

I have used these (small size) on my 2014 Shamrock (Roo) since 2105... work well and are easy to carry...

I have 2 3/4" between my 14" tires and it works. That is about the smallest gap I would recommend. I see some benefit w/ them on our 27.5' trailer. These do not replace regular wheel chokes. We do have a V-Lite Flagstaff and have decided it will have some movement regardless. Tried slide jacks also, but concerned of damage that would be done if tire goes flat. Jacks to me may have had more benefit, but feel X-chokes are safer. Be sure to install before putting slides out. DUH-done it.

I have the smaller camco ones they do what they're supposed to do but I do use a couple jacks on the frame for and aft of wheels

That is a myth that people toss around on the internet for not understanding the actual use of slide jacks.

If you really think about it...

If a tire goes flat on you while camping...do you not have all four corner stabilizer jacks down?

These would hold your trailer up if a tire goes flat...

Worst case scenario is that you won't know you have a flat until you get ready to leave!

Oh wait...still might damage the slide out...right?

Chances are that you will already have that slide in before you start cranking up those corner stabilizer jacks...

Thus my comment about not knowing the tire is flat until you are ready to leave.

I used slide jacks on my previous TT as the huge U-shaped dinette was in that slide, and more than two people sitting at it would not only make that slide droop...but would also rock the whole kazbah!

I loved those slide out jacks...would still be using them if I had that or another TT, though I don't need them on my 5'ver, so I gave them away to a fellow camper who needed them!

I’ve been using x-chocks on my last 3 trailers. They are great. Thought I would mention another thing you can do to minimize movement. Brace your fold out steps. I put the over the top steps on this trailer buy useing leveling blocks under the last step before. Big improvement. I know I can’t get all the movement out. It is on springs and tires. But this has brought it down to the minimum.

On my rig the axles/tires are close enough I can't move up to 15" rims and I use X-chocks all the time, just have to make sure they are fully retracted when inserting them.

Why is that?

I only undo them enough to take them out, then maybe two or three more cranks out to compensate for hotter tires once I get to the destination!

I put the Torklift Glow Steps on mine...

Put them in myself!

that seems like a strange question but I'll answer it. Because my tires are so close together the X-chock will not fit easily without retracting it all the way. Unless you have the same rig as mine I would not expect the installation and removal to be the same. this same closeness of the tires makes such that I can't increase the wheel size as I said.
