Best shampoo conditioner shower stuff.
It has come to my attention that I take reeeaallllly long showers. We have a 25 foot MH with small water tanks. And we want to get off grid in our home. So I have to change my evil ways.
I have searched this forum and can't find what I am curious about.
Does anyone have a favorite shampoo-conditioner combo they use. Using them separately uses too much water.
Best washcloths. I thought those net poufs would dry faster but they require more rinsing than I realized.
I am sure others have some great ideas.

Hi, Nancy! Long showers are the best!
I use Pantene Pro-V 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner. It comes in several formulas. I like that you can easily find it in any wallie world, grocery store or drug store.
You're so right about the poufs and they seem to take quite a while to dry completely. Have recently switched to a set of quick dry bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths from Target. Was skeptical, but they really do dry super quickly - even the washcloth. Planning to order another set.
You can find them here - they come in 28 colors:
Target : Fast Dry Towel Set
Hope this helps!

I use whatever is cheapest at the dollar store. But, I'm a guy, so...you may not want to take my advice on that.
How long are you planning on camping for? If its 3 nights or less, my wife and I generally just don't shower. Hit the important areas with some baby wipes, apply deodorant, and call it a day.
Have you considered joining a gym, like Planet Fitness? You could drive into town for a shower?

When dry camping we use baby washcloths (those that have soap already in them). Get ourselves wet, moisten the washcloth, wash, rinse then toss the washcloth. But we only do this when dry camping.
I use Dove shampoo & conditioner combo.

We wet down, shut off the water, lather up, then rinse. That is called a Navy shower. We don't use wash cloths. My hair is short, so it doesn't take too long. I use Shiny Silver shampoo with conditioner, but my hair is almost white.

Using baby wipes alone you can get pretty darn clean. But sometimes you gotta take a shower. We are doing navy showers although I didn't know it had a name. But no pre soapy washcloths. I will have to look that up,and the fast drying wash cloths at target. I got some Turkish towels. They dry really fast and somehow don't get stinky.
im going to look in the travel sizes for Pantone and Dove. Duh, why didn't I think of that!? Thanks everyone.

Real boondockers shave their heads to the skin before a camping trip removing the need or shampoo or conditioner. DW wears a wig while it grows back.

Most name brand shampoos have a 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner. Everyone has different hair types so pick the one that is closest to your home shampoo. My hair gets way too knotty for a 2 in 1. When tight on water I will do the navy shower as above. A good idea is to get yourself shaped up then put the shampoo on your hair and rinse it all off at the same time. You can try dry shampoos too. I practiced getting quicker in the shower at home. It has helped my morning routine before woek when I oversleep. I can be showered, dressed, 9 yr old Fed and dressed, dog fed and out and be out the door in under 30 min.

Shampoo
If you buy the travel size shampoo try to get one that the cap comes off easily. That way you can refill it as needed from your favorite big bottle. Wife and daughter like the Gotoob refillable bottles/tubes for their shampoo and body wash liquids. Amazon and Target have the Gotoob products.

Also get yourself the oxygenics showerhead. It gives more pressure and uses less water.

sponge baths
When we dry camp and on limited water usages we sponge bath using an ice cream bucket or dish pan. first the hair then in that warm water the rest of us. Used to work when we were kids and had no tub of shower. Then we hit a park in 4-5 days and have a great shower etc.
