Tim,

Yes, Shep's Golden Lantern is now a funeral home and when Shep died his viewing was in the front dining room.

I had heard that, but didn't know if it was true or not. I get to Russia every now and then picking up abrasives from Abrasive Source.

If traveling on I-24 around Kentucky Lake, don't miss Patti's 1880's Settlement. Their 2" pork chop and mile high pies are not to be missed. Exit 31.

>Restaurant Location: Christiana DE RT 7
>Food Type:Tex Mex
>Name: Jose's Border Cafe
>Best Menu Item: Rio Grande
>Price Range: $14-$18
>Parking: Plenty if you arrive early, slim if during dinner hours

But if it for breakfast, you will want to visit 'the little hole in a wall' that goes by Helen's Sausage House in Smyrna DE. Incredible breakfast sandwiches. People travel WAY out of the way for this place.

In Burlington NC-
tickle my ribs BBQ really great Bbq for a good price.
Da Vinci's Table on Church Street. Really good Italian food. Love the outdoor patio with the water fountain.

In Mebane,NC - La Cocina Mexican Restaurant

In Hillsborough - radius pizza

In wake forest, NC- backfins crab house true Maryland style blue crabs made by former Marylanders. I grew up eating MD style blue crabs living in Harford County MD and these are made correctly! They also have really good MD crab soup.

In Mt Airy NC- 13 bones - great BBQ

There's plenty of high class places in the DFW metroplex, but for just plain good hamburgers,go to Whataburger. They're not just in the metroplex, but they have the best burgers around. Try their Spicy Ketchup with your fries.

If you're craving chicken, try one of the nine Babes Chicken Houses and bring your appetite. They're in the Fort Worth area of the metroplex (Tarrant County). Try the Chicken Fried Steak also.

If on Ft Myers Beach, The Heavenly Biscuit is a must for breakfast. It's a little hidden treasure.

Close to home...if traveling I-20 east of Atlanta then exit 98 (Hwy 11) will take you to the Blue Willow Inn in Social Circle. Old Southern plantation house, plain ole southern food "buffet", including fried green tomatoes. Room for trailer parking.

Panama City Beach, FL: Mikes' Oyster Bar on the beach road far west side.

Dothan, AL: Hunts Oysters and Seafood, south end of the loop on 231 (or, is it 431).

Teterboro/Moonachie NJ: Sergovias. Get the Paella Valencia (Parking??? Fugetaboutit)

Many, many cities in the US: Buca De Bepo (google for locations), probably no RV parking at most of them

Lambert's off of I-55 and I-57 in Sikeston Mo. is a fun place to go, with great food. If you leave hungry, it's your own fault. The guys can throw rolls across the restaurant.

In San Diego we are all about tacos. The key to telling whether a taco shop is good is how bad it looks on the on the outside. If you are pretty sure you will end up with dysentery if you eat there, that's the taco shop you want to try (Bonus points if it is an area with a high likelihood of getting shot). That being said, my favorite place is Las Cuatros Milpas in Barrio Logan near Downtown San Diego. Their prices are really cheap and they are only open from 11:00-3:00 (or when they run out of food for the day). Get there early as there is always a long line with an interesting mix of business people, military, and neighborhood locals. They are cash only, but the food is fairly cheap. I have no problem feeding my family of four for under $20. There is no parking lot and street parking is tight, but the food is worth the hastle.

Asheville, NC - 12 Bones Smokehouse on Riverside drive. Only open weekdays between 11AM and 4PM.

Raleigh, NC - The Pit This is more upscale in its decor and atmosphere but good BBQ none the less.

Moorehead City, NC - The Sanitary Fish Market Mostly fish with a few items for non-fish eaters. They also have a seniors menu. Hours vary seasonally so check ahead.
