Boosting RV parks Wifi signal , can it be done with plug in booster

Ok where our seasonal spot is we have free Wifi but the signal is weak . Question is can we buy a signal booster and plug it into one of our outlets in the 5th wheel and boost the strength from a couple bars to maybe more . I see boosters on line but will it make signal stronger is question .

Hello, I have a Aped Wireless that works well. I just put the one antenna up near the small window in the Fiver.

Amped Wireless TAP-EX High Power Touch Screen Wi-Fi Range Extender

Easy to configure with a touch screen.

I have a Netgear booster that just plugs in. It is a bit of a pain to set up, especially if you are moving around. Also, I think their support is lacking.

That said, it does work and has helped us in a number of poor reception situations. It might solve your problem for around $70. You should put it at the end of the RV that is closest to their hot spot.

I have a friend that was successfully using a booster. After I found the Netgear one, I asked him what he had been using. Same one, so I bought it.

It is a WN1000RP.

I use a Jefatech booster on my RV. It has 1/2 mile or 1 mile range outside antenna. I've had good luck the last two months with it in a campground where the wifi is weak.
You can find info at JEFA Tech

Which Jefatech

Thanks for the link, which one did you purchase? Was it just a repeater or what?

Do these have a monthly charge after initial cost?

How much data do most of you carry

Does this work in campgrounds with hotspot wifi?

Yes, I used it at the only KOA I have been in, worked well. Easier to connect all of your own devices to it. Used at Goshen last year and it work fine till the Internet caved in due to usage. I have tried it at home and found lots of unsecured signals and repeated them as well.

At a Good Sam's campout last month I think I found the single best solution to WIFI/3G/4G signal boosting out there. The park we were at did not have WIFI, but one of the guys camping with us was tapped in to the free WIFI at a Hardee's restaurant 3.5 MILES away (and before the WIFI police respond, YES he had gone to Hardees, bought lunch and asked permission from the manager )

Still, he told me that in parks with so-so signals or at crowded rallies his Thewirie (that's the name of the booster) brings in WIFI to his unit with zero issues. The unit he has will also boost your cell reception and he said when he was out west in the boondock of Utah he could get 2-3 bars when everyone else had no service.

Problem is you *really* need to have a need for good WIFI/Cell signal, because the unit is NOT cheap ($650 ). It mounts on your whaletail and provides a turnkey WIFI hot spot inside your RV.

JEFA Tech: Long Range WiFi Repeater Kit for RVs

I use the long range repeater by Jefatech. The kit is $170 and operates all my devices on one sign in from the campground WIFI. The first year at Goshen I had steady wifi with 350 campers. Last year it was hit and miss with over 500 campers. Better than others. This year ???

When the fairground wifi dies I turned to Verizon Jet Pack for internet.

The Ubiquiti Nanostation Loco M2 works very well. Mounts on a pole outside. One CAT5 cable to your computer or wireless router. $50.

We use the amped Wi-Fi repeater as well and it works great on most campgrounds. As stated put it near a window face the office or wifi access point.

Canada Computers on line is good source. We have a store in Waterloo. Tiger Direct is also closing down retail as well, I guess the "Show-rooming" is killing all electronic retailers.
