Bug & Black streak remover!!
Hello All,
Just wanted to pass along a recipe I received while on a trip to Colorado Springs a few years back. I still use it today.
Trailer/RV Cleaner:
16 oz Turtlewax
32 oz Distilled Water
1 oz Lemon Juice
1 oz Palmolive, Dawn or Joy
Mix together and wax/clean away.
Just an FYI use a good container to hold mix in. I made mistake first time around of using an old milk jug and the mix eventually leaked. So I use an old windshield washer jug to store it in now.
Also the gentleman I received the mix info from was using it on his fifth wheel and said he got it from a retired chemical engineer.

Thanks for posting. I'll definitely give it a shot as my recently washed fifth wheel still has streaks and mess on it that regular soap didn't take care of.

Do you apply it like a wax (Wax On/Wax Off)?

Yes, just like oil and water. Paste wax mixes with water.
Mix up some Turtle paste wax and water and send it to me!
Are you drunk already this morning?

Bug stuff
I've had good luck with Turtle Wax Bug and Tar Remover, just got back from the Grand Canyon and every few days during the trip I'd use it to keep it from getting too bad. I will try your formula though, the love bugs down here in Fl. sometimes take a lot of elbow grease and maybe it'll make it easier. Thanks.

For those asking, since I have to be more specific for some of our more funnny or intellectually challenged readers. The Turtlewax is their liquid version. Because as stated earlier in this thread paste does not play well with water.
Thank you for pointing this out.

Hey, remember, FT Turbs got kicked out of kindergarten the 1st day and ban from the Iowa public school system the same day. See his post, claims he's done it.

Not sure I like the idea of dish soap. It is an abrasive and over the long haul I think it could damage to the finish, clear coat, and decals. I find just using black streak remover when I wash the camper works fine. Spay it on, then wash the camper using car wash soap, doing an area at a time. Then to protect the finish I just use a quick spray and wipe Automotive wax. I also have found that when you have light black streaks, the spay and wipe wax takes them right off. I usually do the waxing while we are at the campground. I do it over a couple of days.

I use a used dryer sheet for bugs on the car an truck. Works great would assume it will work on trailer as well.
