Try the clay bar kit. You can get it wherever you get carwash soap and wax. The kit is usually 1 or 2 claybar(s) and a bottle of quick detailer. It's for paint but it works on glass too. Keep the surface wet with the QD and run the bar over it with a little pressure. I've had good luck getting bugs off the windshield with this.
