Camper Storage - Myrtle Beach

Don't yell at me yet. I know it's too early in the season to be thinking about storing our campers. Background....I plan to move to Myrtle later this year and next week I'll be there checking things out. I'd like to find a couple potential storage places to check out while there so I kinda know where I'll put my TT to sleep for the winter.

Just another question while I'm on a roll. Given the typical winter conditions in Myrtle do you still go through the standard winterization? I'm in Northern WV right now so you can imagine what happens here in the winter.

Thanks...This forum is awesome and always enjoy the feedback.

T.

Get a good undercoat on your RV. The salt air will rot the frame right out from underneath.

Don't know if he's still in business, but I had good luck with "Don's Econo-store" north of MB. Outdoor storage, but good rates and his hired man lives in a trailer inside the fenced in part of the storage yard. Also had a big mean looking dog.

I have had very good experiences with "Uncle Bobs Storage" here in Florida. Very professional, good clean facilities, good security.

I see one listed for Myrtle Beach. I have no personal experience with that one, but certainly worth checking out.

I appreciate the recommendations. Will definitely check them out. Figured winterized would still be in order.

Ocean lakes family campground stores TT for people that are going to stay at their campground and will pull them to your site.

I'm not sure if they store TT that are not staying there but it might be worth the call.

I have camped there before. I will have to check them out. I'm not sure about Apache campground, couple of others I have stayed at.

Thanks,

Best bet. Find a place you can store your TT on your own property. I'd rather have mine on my own property if at all possible.

ocean lakes only stores if you are camping there and they pull it on and off the site to the storage yard.
There is good storage site up above Conway and towards Loris. They will tow it to the campground of your choice, very well priced compared to other. There is also TippyToe repo on SC-9 going away from North Myrtle Beach. I will have to check and see if I can get that name. It is around Loris, SC.
Several local storage lots in and around the beach area & they are high $$$$.. very high$$$$.
good luck

We store ours at Ocean Lakes Family Campground after a visit in early October, go back for a week after Christmas, spend another week in March and bring it home for the summer. Don't winterize until after Christmas. Still pretty warm until Jan and Feb.

harderd is correct the environment down there is tough on RVs. The wind blows the caustic (salt) sand and it gets everywhere. It will dull plastic and accelerate the rusting/corrosion process. My Dad left a TT in the OBX for two weeks and when he brought it back to Virginia the unit appeared to have aged a couple of years. I'd look for a place inland well away from the ocean to store your unit.
