We brush washed and lightly pressure washed (mainly just rinsed) our 37’ 5er today. Wow what a job. This brought up a question I have about that. Has anyone used a truck wash or similar? We just hand wash it, but there are times that I might just rather take a less labor intensive approach to washing our rig.

I was just talking to friends. The use Blue Beacon truck washes on a semi-regular basis and haven't had issues in doing so.

I'm concerned with the cheap paint on mine that it would cause me grief.

I use the Blue Beacon at least once a year and have had good luck with them, been doing that since 2013 with our curent 5er. I like to use them to get all the funk off before it gets a good wash from me.

I don't use automated car washes for my car and wouldn't use a truck wash for my trailer either, unless it's a hand wash. There are too many variables you can't control with an automated wash, such as a brush catching something and ripping it off.

As a result, I probably don't wash my vehicles as often as I should, but at least when I do, I have the personal satisfaction that the job is complete and done right.

I have had my concerns about just that reason. The Blue beacon wash is that a spinning brush type of place or just high pressure nozzles? Thanks for your input guys.

I use the 340 truck wash in Wilcox, AZ on my way to winter near Tucson. They do a great job. Hand brush and a scaffold type thing so they don't walk on your roof. About a buck a foot.

Thanks mc9. We winter in Mesa. We go through Willcox on the way and can get it spruced up. Thanks for the tip.

Slightly off topic, but I wash/wax my own with Wash Wax All by Cosmetic Industries. I bought their pole for reaching the high spots. Only takes me 1.5 hours to do my 34 ft fiver, and it does a really good job.

One gallon of their product has lasted for 4 washes so far, and still have enough left for one more.

For me a very easy and good option. Look them up online and they have some videos that show how it is done.

Manual all the way here, have a step ladder, long telescopic washing brush with car wash soap. Takes me about an hour then the following day I put F11 topcoat on her and she glows.

Blue Beacon is a high volume wash. It has no spinning brushes.

The teenagers at my church earn money for mission trips and such by washing and waxing my 5th wheel. The word is out... it's not too hard, it's fun to get wet and I pay too much.

I just wish they'd go more places. Camper would be cleaner.

And come to think of it, "I" need to go more places...

Thanks for the reminder - I've been considering this product for over a year... I checked amazon.ca and the price is good for Canada so I ordered some.

I already have a telescoping pole with a microfiber mop head. We washed and waxed our trailer this spring. It turned out awesome but with lugging around the bucket and hose and all the buffing it was a ton of work. I'm looking forward to trying this stuff out.

They have a full suite of products. All seem very good. Developed for jet aircraft use, works great for RV.

Because of the soft seals, I wouldn't take it to a truck wash. They go crazy with their high pressure wash nozzles. I go with a soft-bristle extendable car/rv washing brush and mild soapy warm water. Luckily we have Cilajet all over the exterior so it should look brand new for the next 7 yrs at least. A simple wash is all that'll be needed.

Yep. We have been cleaning it with the soft brush and soapy water. I think I will try the mop the next time. It came out like new the last cleaning. I have always been a tried and true k.i.s.s. method guy.

Please be safe! I fell off a ladder yast January while caulking at top of my fiver. I always do it by hand but lately my Grandson has been helping me.

Will do. This is the ultimate reason that I have asked the question about washing my rig. I’m retired now and need to find easier ways of keeping it clean. Unfortunately being full timers, I only have younger family to help with this stuff a few times a year when we are visiting. As usual I have picked up some good ideas from the great folks here at FRF.
