Cleaning the toilet

Total newbie here...HOW does one clean the TT toilet? I don't want to mess up the black tank by putting chemicals in it, but also likes clean toilet ? Thanks in advance!

Black tank is only a holding tank, nothing to mess up.

Some toilets are porcelain and others are plastic. Don't use anything abrasive on a plastic toilet. We use the Thetford Kitchen cleaner and a smaller toilet brush than at home. The flush hole is smaller than your home toilet.

I also keep some sanitary baby wipes to use after cleaning. Sometimes use them between cleanings just for peace of mind.

Just don't put those baby wipes down the toilet. They don't break down like toilet paper does.

Goes without saying but I suppose there are some that don't know that, so great addition. Should have thought to include that

There are a few adds on the TV about them and how much they cost in dollars to fix! Since a lot of CGs have ceptic.

The wipes marketed as Flushable are not to be put into residential septic system or RV black tanks. They only work in municipal sewer systems where strong chemicals are used to break it down. Residential and RV dump stations work with both oxygen loving aerobic and oxygen hating anaerobic bacteria to break down organic waste. The aerobic bacteria does a better job at breaking down waste but they are short lived so most of the work is left to the anaerobic bacteria.

Toilet itself is easy, just make sure to provide proper maintenance to black tank.

Wrong! They are not flushable any where. I know the package says so, but ask anyone that works for a city municipal system. They will tell you different!

The more time you spend cleaning your RV toilet, the more often you'll have to empty the black tank...just close the lid.
