I agree that WD-40 has many uses. Doesn't it contain Petroleum distillates? I read somewhere that this causes damage and shrinkage to decals. There are several threads on this in Forest River and other forums.
I guess if you didn't let it touch the decals that would be OK. I have too many friends with decal issues to try something like WD-40 for cleaning black streaks. I use Simple Green straight to clean black streaks. I spray it on a soft to medium bristle brush, after wetting the exterior surface of the camper. They come off with very little scrubbing. I also wash the roof 2 - 3 times a season. That helps a lot.

I tried to find the "LA Totally Awesome" product from my local Walmart but they do not carry, I live in Canada and that magic border seems to stop a lot of items from entering...lol.
As for using wd-40 on the rig...not in this life. WD-40 has it uses like ee said and if you have a decal that may have a loose corner or rip or tear go ahead and get it wet with the stuff. You will be loosing that decal soon! I have found that on paint it does more harm than good over a period of time. Anything with an abrasive is obviously going to damage the gel coat. If the cleaner can remove wax from my car its not going to touch my rig.
Keeping up on cleaning the roof is a must, I agree. Gutter extensions are another must.
I guess we all have our tricks or favorite wonder cleaner.

I just picked up some yesterday at the Dollar Tree store. I don't know if you have those stores up there in Canada. It's kind of funny a lot of the stuff thats in the store and French language printed on it.

I wouldn't use WD40 for that reason. On purpose I have used it to remove decals/stickers that have been applied to our TT; does a great job to 'soften' the glue and remove it (sticker) cleanly.

I found that the magic eraser works just fine...my arms are going to look like the hulk at the end of the day.. but thankfully I do not have to scrub the whole rig.

I am going to buy some of the Totally Awesome as a result of the kudos here. I see that you can also get it on ebay including free shipping. To buy only a bottle or two on Amazon, you have to spend at least $25 to get the free Super Saver shipping.
This manufacturer's link shows you where yo can buy it:

When I waxed the camper this past fall, it seemed like maybe it was the first time it had ever been waxed by hand--there was a lot of random adhesive/calk globbed on in places that it shouldn't have been, and the black streaks were pretty bad. I used Meguire's One Step RV Cleaner Wax, #50, and it worked well on everything--streaks, adhesive, bugs, etc. Then I put clothespins on the ends of my gutters so that water runs off them and not down the sides. That has greatly reduced the streaking so far. Good luck!

We just bought a few bottles of Totally Awesome at a Dollar Tree store. At $1 a bottle, how can you go wrong? The lady at the store said they get a lot of people telling them it is great for RVs and that a lot of Canadians go there just to buy it.

My dealer told me to use mineral spirits. I tried it on a small area and it worked great. He did say not to leave it on too long.

After using the Awesome are you suppose to wax it or just wash the area?

The next time I use it I will rinse/wash the area right away. I think you'll still have to wax it tho'.
