You have to tell the service provider you want your money back. I had this happen with a car rental that was covered by my credit card insurance, a tire blew out and I hit the curb keeping it under control and that damaged the other tire on the same side, the rental company charged my credit card and the banks insurer, it's amazing to see how quick a bank can fix things when it's their money.
