Confirm your reservation

Just want to put this out there, make sure you have a confirmation in writing. The women at the Avalon RV Resort in Clearwater Fla. several times assured us we would have a place for February only to find out two days prior to our arrival there where no sites available. Fortunately for us friends staying at that park found us a place next door at Embassy Mobile Home Park. Very nice people and it was a &100 cheaper. They are converting more of the mobile home sites to RV sites because of the demand.

Prior to getting our TT, I made reservations in February for our first anniversary in July (high school sweethearts that got together 30 years later) at a very nice hotel in the 1000 Islands region of NY. I called twice to confirm and was assured everything was in order. I asked that a bottle of champagne and a dozen roses be in the room on check-in, again I was assured all was in order. After driving from VA to NY, we find that there is no reservation for us and no vacancy! They admitted it was their screw up because "we changed reservation software". They did find us a room at another hotel but no offer of comp nor did DW get the champagne or roses!We laugh about it now, but I was livid at the time.
