The exterior coax connector (dual tv & satelite) is recessed with a lid to protect it from the weather on my Flagstaff 27rlws. This makes it difficult to screw to coax cable on.
Getting the threads lined up and started is difficult, but it's hard to tighten the connector down as the flip up lid gets in the way.
Do other members have this problem, and how have you remedied the situation.

Quick connectors may solve your problem. Available
on line or at the Source. They attach permanently to the screw end
of the coax and simple push on to the exterior connecter when required.

Saw this in a store a couple years ago, they sell lots of specialized tools for pro installers.
Like security Torx bits

Having fat fingers and a recessed exterior coax cable / sat tv connector on my TT..I experienced the same thing.. At first I used the tool described in previos posts and it worked OK but I was always misplacing it... I came across a Comcast Cable installer who was throwing away a short 3 ft RG6 jumpert cable that had ends on it that were exactly what I needed.. I cut the cable in 1/2, attached a normal compression RG6 connector on one end, connected it to the sat antenna cable with a barrel connector and the other end of the jumper had a connector that was easy to the sat in on the trailer...Pictures are better than words....
I finally found the problem with no TV reception. The antenna coax jumper from the batwing antenna that leads into the roof has a little rubber boot that allows rain water to leak into the cable connection at the roof entry. Within one year of purchase the cable connection failed. Its hard to believe that forest river and probably numerous other manufacturers would not see this as a potential problem.
If anyone else has this little boot I would recommend examining the connection and add more flexible sealant to completely cover the boot. After the fact I wish I had taken some photos.

I was just browsing through postings and saw your question. My husband has a solution for this issue. Check out this: www.rvcablegrip.com

The non screw on ones will you give you a pia moment after a few uses.....they lose their grip...also, the coax connectors in the wall plate might be installed backward....longer end inside

Make sure you get the ones with a split ring on the end of the connector.
They retain their grip even with excessive use.
