Cordless Drill for leveling jacks

I am looking for tips on how to use a normal 18 volt cordless trip to raise and lower the leveling jacks? What do you connect the socket to the drill chuck? Or do you have to use an in pack gun and not a normal cordless drill? Are most the bolts the same size?

Thanks

I use this

Hex Drill Socket Driver Set 3 Pc

And a deep well 6 point spark plug socket that fits my jacks.

Works great to run them up and down. Make sure to spray your jack screw down with some grease every year to keep them rust free and moving smooth.

I use a Black and Decker Matrix drill

With the Impact Driver Attachment

Walmart sells a Camco unit just for this. Under $14.

Years ago, before I found the actual tool, I: went to Lowe's and bought a socket (19mm?) for a 1/2" drive. I then bought a 1/2" to 3/8" adapter. My drill was 3/8" so the 3/8" end goes in the drill and the 1/2" end goes in the socket.

If your drill has a torque clutch set it to just firm up the jack . This will prevent accidentally raising a jack too high.

I burned up my cordless drill first time I tried that, took my 1/2 inch elect drill from then on. Just be careful that will hurt you when it hits the stop

One thing Bob is saying ====> your jacks are not leveling jacks; they're stabilizing jacks. Use blocks under tires on one side and your tongue jack for leveling.

DITTO!

I had a 1/2" drill dedicated to my pop-up and then carried it on over to my Roo. Left it with the rigs all year. I still have the socket around somewhere.

X2......level side to side, then front to back. Then the jacks to secure and add support. I have used a B&D 20 volt drill, set on 10 and run up till it gives....2 years issue free....

Agreed. Level side to side using blocks under the tires. Then front to back using landing gear/tongue jacks.

More info here:

I use a simple 14.4v DeWalt drill/screwgun for my scissor jacks.

I use a Makita cordless that has 8 torque settings. With the torque release set to the next to maximum setting I run each stab down until the torque release activates. That way I know there is equal pressure on each one.

After doing that I follow up with 1.5 turns with the hand crank on each one. Unless I'm parked on concrete I check each day and usually add another turn to all six stabs. Even with the 12x12 pads permanently bolted to each stab they still loosen up a little bit every day.

Those are not levelling jacks! They are for stabilization. Do not try to level the trailer with them

don't need a drill, that's my 12 year old daughter's job... we'll see how long I can get away with having her do it before I need to get myself an extra drill for the camper...!!

Depends on the size of the trailer frame.

I use an 18v 1\4" impact with socket adapter and 3\4" ( I think) socket, didn't want to waste money on a campco adapter, when I have the tools.

Picked up adapter off Amazon. Leave it with cordless 18v drill. That way keep all my sockets together in tv.
