Counter Items

How do you stabilize your coffee maker and other items on the the kitchen and bathroom counters while driving. Trying not to have top pack everything away each time I drive, if possible.

DW puts things in kitchen sink with towels to separate them. Seems to work for us.

We don’t have breakables our in either place- no coffee maker/carafe for us.

We set things in the corner of the stove. Knife block and utensil caddy mostly. They sit on top of our drying mat.

In the bathroom, we just have a 6” x 6” container that we stand things up in. We leave it where it is and it’s never fallen. I don’t know for sure, but it might have museum putty under it.

In the shower, all of our shampoos and conditioners and body washes and 7,000 bottles live in a basket. I do put that onto the floor of the shower. Same with my wife’s razors and shower head.

Tidying those areas up for moves takes just a couple of minutes.

I need my morning Java so if no coffee maker, I'd withdrawing BAD! I use the lined wastebasket that fits /rides snugly under the kitchen sink to store the coffee pot. Has worked very well for two seasons.

We put everything up in the cupboard. We don’t have enough kitchen space to leave out toasters, coffee makers, crock pot, etc. We also have a large rattan basket that we throw smaller things in, like flashlights, boxes of crackers, and things like that.

our coffee pot and other counter items just stay where they are. we travel every weekend and 3 weeks during our summer holidays. nothing ever moves. our last trailer we had to put it all away but this 5th wheel there is no need.

We don’t have enough counter space to leave things out so it all has a home nad gets put away some stuff gets put in the sink for travel

Put light objects in upper cabinets and heavier ones down low.

We put everything in its assigned traveling spot off the counter tops... coffee maker and toaster in cabinet, smaller items in pantry shelf, water filter pitcher in sink.

We put counter top items in the sink to secure. Same with bath, but we keep a basket for most counter items in bathroom.

Interesting. I am still figuring all of this out. I was wandering about a way to secure a small crate (if you can find one these days) on the bathroom sink to leave the liquid soap and lotion bottles in. I figured things would slide around on the shower floor even in a basket. Currently I am exploring ways to secure my Keurig coffee maker on the counter. Of course with no inverter, I would have to run the generator to use it, but that is what it is for. Like you, pbbandpab, I need my coffee, multiple doses. My counter space is quite limited, but it would save much time if I did not have to clear it before each move. When set up, the toaster and Keurig occupy all of the usable space at the back of the counter, and stay there until I move. I just ordered some museum putty and some supposed non-slip material (Dysentery). The stuff from the local stores does not work well. ?There is movement in the cabinets, even with this stuff.

My Keurig really doesn't move. I worried about it, but it doesn't. I DO shove it against the wall.

You could use the velcro command strips as well provided it does not get too hot where you put them.

Our paper towel holder has a suction cup. Everything else is put away.

We use the sponge shelf liner under things on the counter. So far everything stays in place. It is similar to what you put under throw rugs so they do not move.

I tried the sponge stuff in the cabinets. The material slid a bit. I just received the Dycem non-skid material I ordered. This stuff looks like it is going to be great. So far I tried it under my computer keyboard. No more movement.

We use quake putty also called museum putty to hold the toaster and kuerig on the counter. Use it to hold the DVD player on the TV shelf. You can get it at HD or Lowes. Been using it for the last 5 years and nothing has moved.

I bought a big canvas tote that is folded down in the underbed storage. Then when we are ready I put stuff in there along with kitchen and bath towels. When the slides come in the tote fits snuggly in the space.

I also put coffee maker an some other stuff in the kitchen sink with towels around it or stuffed in the gaps so it doesnt shift. Bathroom stuff is in a crate in the tub along with another crate of gallon jugs of water from the house for the dog. I have a piece of the puffy shelf liner under the crate and it stays put..

yes, I've modded our cooking area, plus put a cap over the table top, .... so clipping on fences is easy for us to do, ... but the general idea can probably be adapted to be used in other situations, .... sure makes getting ready for travel easier, ... not only do we not remove anything , but often will put things on the table for safe keeping while traveling, ..... all the pieces are remnants from a 5" vinyl post, .....
