We were taught at a very early age (like 2 yrs old) and passed it on to our 2 boys that if a door/curtain was pulled, that you knock before entering a room. Even if you were sick, you knocked before going into mom & dad's bedroom.

A 3 month old?? Sounds like you need to give it a rest anyway!! LOL

Saw it in pics 32 and 33. That should work quite nicely. Thanks! Problem is I saw all of your other mods too. Jealous!

Planned too, believe it or not. A rest??? Although a rest sounds good, sleep doesn't happen much these days. Oh, you mean that...

Man I was laffin' so hard I almost spit beer on the monitor. How about getting a good movie going in the other room and cranking the volume. It's always worked when our kids were young. Then it's the attack of the beast with two backs.

Yes, well my kids were taught that from age 1.5. Beat you there...
LOL No really our kids are polite and have manners regarding closed doors generally. Trust me, mine are the kids you would want to run into at the campground. The kind if you dropped a penny on the ground they would hunt you down to give it back to you. Not that they're always kind to each other...but we have tried to teach them what is right.
The closed and locked door concern generally comes from my "paranoia" with "if it can go wrong it will and often does." A 11PM nosebleed, a bad dream, etc. And although we would drop everything and attend to these things, I wouldn't want the kids to see, well you know...we aren't naturists.
Also I would add this has never been an issue in our house (of one of them trying to open our locked door, anytime.) But I was also thinking it would be nice to have the option to lock the door from time to time when changing for swimming or just when general privacy is needed when a relative visits, etc.

If the door is structural at all, just install a pocket door lock.

Good luck, mine are 18 and 20, youngest just graduated high school and oldest is about to start third year of college. They can get over it!

A locked door isn't the only consideration. You want to be sure the TT/5er is well stabilized so you aren't rocking the kids asleep/awake. We had camping neighbors whose awing had a suspicious rocking & a rattle, maybe OC's awning support would be a fix. Most important, no loud celebrating as you near the finish.
& lots of 'wrestling' engagements. Some of us will be sitting around the drinking a little & about it.

You have reached official smiley capacity. Is it just me or are your smileys looking a little more happy than usual??? Perhaps it is the subject matter being discussed.
The awning and overall stability should be taken into consideration, you are right. Glad you brought that up.

Rocking the trailer was our major concern also, not the door. Our "kids" are now 22 and 23 but they camped with us from the time they were born. When they were very young the rockin' didn't really matter. When they got to the age of 9 or 10 we just refrained. Kids are smarter than we give them credit for, they would figure what was going on.

Our friend has a 13 or 14 year old daughter who started asking what the shaking was. "It was the wind"or "the dog was scratching" only worked for so long- their kids finally got the boot and sleep in a tent now.

My real issue is that we're planning a longer trip and for 3 weeks of it, my mother-in-law will be with us. Worse yet, she's a late owl- often staying up way past us. There's no amount of cute excuses that will work...
I have a feeling he "chore" will be doing the laundry.
