Thanks for the advise, I picked up a new TT and it has the darker cabnitry. All over the surfaces it looks dusty but doesn't just wipe off like it should. I assume this is the filler used by the factory that just smeared.

Old English is very good. DW just found a Minwax product that is like a grease pencil that is used for touching up scratches (such as white lines in the finish). It works quite well for small nicks and lines. It is called a "Blend Fill Pencil" and you can see the different finish colors here:
