Doest 30 ft really mean 30 ft ?

I'm a newbie, so this may be a bit of a dumb question ?

but.. I'm buying a new MH Sunseeker 3010 DS and it measures out at 32'3"..
Now, I see a lot of RV sites that state 30'.. Does that usually mean 30ish ft or
your 32 ft camper REALLY won't fit ?

Someone posted that the number 3010 (in your case0 is the inside living space.
I have no idea if it is true or not, but a tape measure and a helper will tell.

Haven't actually picked the Camper up yet, so measuring tape won't work...

The 32' 3"" comes from the official Sunseeker Web site under

Exterior Length 32' 3"

At some places I've been to, they require you (the wheels) stay on a paved area, so if you overhang, it's ok. If you're in doubt, there is usually a number you can call.
Some places are real tight, not only the spaces, but even getting into the area, so that might be the reason.

Sorry, maybe my question is a bit confusing..

I'll take the word for the Exterior Length of the Camper from Sunseeker 32' 3"..

What I'm wondering about are camping sites that say they accommodate vehicles that are 30 ft in size.

My experience with sites that say 30' is that they mean there is some kind of obstruction limiting the footprint. Oftentimes we camp at SPs, for example, that have a variety of 30, 40, 45 and 50ft sites. The 30's usually had something that would have blocked a longer rig. Sometimes, they were longer than 30' so I gather the SPs were giving some margin. Best to call and ask.

Hard to tell. A tight fit lengthwise may be OK if plenty wide. But try to avoid tight fits by telling them you have 34' or so. Know you TT length from tip to tip.

Your 32 ft camper will fit in 75% or more of the 30 ft. RV sites. Your camper wheels most of the time can back up to the site 'back stop' and several feet of the camper will hang over to the back of the RV site. With that said.... some RV sites will for what ever reason (

) leave a tree or two at the back stop and the unit will only go back so far. It is not a good idea to have the tongue of your unit out in the road..... the campground host says that is a no..no... Also you have your tow vehicle to think about to get in there or park somewhere else. When the sign say to not park on the grass... someone will usually remind you to not park on the grass. A lot of parks (state Parks too) will have pictures of the sites for you to inspect before you make a 'site' selection. Go for a large site if you can... if one is not open... get what you can get. Even if the 'site' is 30 feet , it is sometimes possible to skew the front of the unit to the side to gain a couple of feet. Get your 32 ft unit and not worry about if the 30 ft site is too short 'most of the time'. Do a little research and you will be fine in a 30 ft site.

The original poster is asking about a Class C, not a trailer. Saying a 32 footer will fit into 75% of 30 foot RV sites is a rash statement, unless you know about all the state parks, national parks, and COE campgrounds throughout the nation. Triguy gave you the best advice, call ahead and ask.

I wonder he when they say 32' 3" listings is front of the bumper to the rear of the back bumper and 30' is total living space? My TT has about a 3' differance depending on which web site I look at.

Initially I won't have a toad. However, I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cheerokee, and from what I can tell, this would make a good toad vehicle at some point.

I've always assumed that when sites say they can accommodate a TT/Motorhome and one vehicle, that meant there was space off to the side to park the vehicle. Maybe I'm wrong?

Usually no space off to the side on each camp site. Park in front of your unit. This will add to the depth of the site that you will need. Again, check with the camp ground. Know what you are getting into before you get there.

It really comes down to the campground and campsite. I've been at places where you had to have everything a line and being off of the gravel pad was a grave sin. I've been at other places, where the rangers have told me to go ahead and pull my truck/car off to the side.
