Door rubbing on open awning

When we have the awning out on our XLR trailer, the top of the door rubs against the awning slightly as it is opened and closed.

I tried adjusting the awning several times but continue to have this issue. I am concerned that, over the years, we will damage the awning.

Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks!

attach one of these to the top outside far opening corner of your door.

It's a new trailer! Take it back to the dealer and have them fix it! These type of things are not acceptable but still we come up with a bandaid for a manufacturing problem.

Sometimes this happens to me too but I can raise the awning higher and the problem goes away. I have now learned to check the door before hanging the lights.

Yep. I do the same thing. Just bump the button a little, maybe 1/4 turn of the awning tube and it clears the fabric.
The dealers response when I showed them this was.."thats why the door has round corners".."It won't hurt it"

All they had to do was mount it about 1" higher and there would be no problem.

Linnemj,
How do you like the hew TH? Didn't you get the happy jac bed? How do you like it? My TH does the same on the awning. I put the rollers on it when we got it home. They work just fine and you can put the angle in the awning. HappyTrails to Ya.

Got a similar answer about the rounded corners when I asked about installing a roller on the door. I do agree about just moving it up a inch or so would help.

On the XLR Viper models i dont think there is any more headroom to raise the awning up. I was looking for a solution for the same thing and im happy to see the one posted above

Fivecodys-
Hey - Great minds think the same. LOL So tell me how you like towing with your truck?

I will finally get to tow my trailer with the new truck in two weeks. It will be so nice to use my own tv for towing and have it ready to go at any time.
