I got a propane torch at harbor freight and attach it to one of the small green portable propane tanks you can get for camping stoves. It makes me popular with the neighbors.

There are about 107 years of old Boy Scouts rolling in their graves right now!

We only got TWO matches!

Last year while camping I saw a guy pull out a yard waste bag full of white styrofoam to start his fire and then continued burning it. The sky was black with smoke.......looked like a tire fire.

I'm surprised the wardens didn't come down.

Grab your 9 volt and steel wolf and you still have 2.

Was a scout and sm for several years always taught the boys to think outside the box when doing Klondike derby. They would look at the challenges plan out the load for the he sled. Many times they got extra points for not using any matches

Great Idea!! DW used egg cartons, wax and Animal Bedding with her Guides.

I use one sheet of newspaper, a feather board, kindling cut with hatchet and one match.

Baloo would be concerned if I needed anything else.

I taught the Cub Scouts the same method.

I use pine cones that i put in the small bath room Dixie cups and add melted paraffen canning wax to the cup with the pine cone. Start the Dixie cup on fire it will burn for about 5 - 10 min. Very cheap to make and keep
All ells fails use Scout water (charcoal lighter fluid).

Hope This Helps Tim

Diesel poured over last days trash works great. To put fire out use black water and you just killed two birds with one stone!

I don't worry about offending the neighbors, my open frame non-inverter generator that I run 24-7 seems to keep them away.
