Flag Pole Installation
Hi all,
I am wanting to install a flag pole bracket somewhere on our Clipper 17FQ. Can you suggest the best place to install it that won't created any issues with the trailer itself?
I'm attaching a pic of the type of bracket I mean.
Thanks in advance!
Moe.

flag pole installation
Hello again,
So I take it that now that I have corrected my mistake and added the pic properly to my initial post, no one has any input as to where I can install it?
Thanks anyway.

Any place you mount that is going to have to have substantial structural backing behind it to support a wind blown, waving flag. So unless you can find a place on a bumper, the frame or the hitch area, I would have concerns. I surely wouldn't mount it anywhere to the sides of my trailer. YMMV.

If you use the mount you have you should limit the length of the flag pole to just a few feet or so.
I just installed the Flag Pole Buddy which is a ladder mount. The kit included everything ...3x5 flag, 22' pole, mounts, nuts & bolts.
Camping World had them on sale last week.

I have the flagpole buddy also. If the ladder can hold me, it can easily take a flagpole. It also has provisions for 2 flags.

The load of you climbing it is entirely different from a flag whipping in all directions. JMO.

I bolted one similar to that one on the bracket that holds the batteries. My flag is only a 3' * 5' with a 3' pole. It is out of the way enough that it clears the propane tanks and I don't whack myself on it.

I take it down if wind conditions warrant. It can also be shortened to reduce the force from the wind.

I've got the hardware to install a swivel base on the 5th wheel hitch of my 5'er, then thread on a 6" piece of threated pipe on to it, to insert the flat pole in it.
I like the fact that it swivels, so the flag itself will not wrap around the pole from the wind. Here's a picture of a similar base I will be using, mine will be black. This is a picture of marine type swivel.

I've had that same flag and holder on two campers. It only has about a four foot, small wooden pole.I mounted both of mine on the side of the camper with no issues. I did use the putty type sealant behind it to stop water intrusion.
Now I have the 20' sliding pole that harbor freight sells.I used a couple of 2" EMP brackets to mount it to the camper ladder.Works well and looks good to me and have had many compliments on it.
I thought I had a picture,but can't find it.
