Fresh tank fill / City water fill
New member, New RV and very green trying to learn before our first trip. What is the difference between the City water fill and the Fresh tank fill?

Fresh tank fill: The fresh water tank is filled using a garden hose(or waster supply hose). The 12 volt on-board pump supplies water to kitchen sink, shower/tube, toilet and water heater.

City water connection: Supplies water to same, by-passing the fresh water tank.

If you are going to a campground that has water at your site, then there is no need to fill the fresh water tank. You simply connect your hose to the city water connection and to the campground faucet. Not carrying your water will cut down on the weight you have to tow.

If, however you are going to a site that has no water hookup (usually many national parks do not have any hookups at all), then you will need to fill the fresh tank.

One thing you should consider do when using the fresh water tank and camper has sat for awhile is to sanitize it. Bacteria can build up in there and if your tank sours, you can get sick.

use a pressure regulator when hooking up to the city water. welcome to the forum, enjoy the trailer.
with all the talk about home brew I might have to head to Virginia!
