Fresh Water Sanitation

We camp "off grid" and are new to having a travel trailer. We filled our fresh water tanks and used about half. It will now be about 3 weeks until we can camp again. We don't bring the camper home each weekend, it stays at the lake. I understand how to sanitize and rinse out everything, but what about the in between times when you can't flush out the water. Can/should one put a little bleach in the fresh water tanks and just leave it? I should note that we do not drink the water. It is for washing hands, flushing the toilet, doing the dishes. Or are we still using it enough that it's not going to get slimy in between?
