Help with handle in 28dbk model

Please tell me if I’m posting in wrong thread. We are working on setting up our brand new travel trailer. We noticed the top bunk is very hard to get out of with a fixed ladder and no toe room, we felt there needs to be a handle on the wall, we bought handles and when trying to screw them on found no stud at all. Any advice would be appreciated!! We thought just one by the remote that’s on the wall. Upon trying the screw fell right in nothing to grab it.

Well, it would help if you told us whether it's a Salem or Wildwood, since you don't have it listed in your profile.

Get a stud finder, you may need to screw wood onto the wall and into the studs and then attach the handle to that wood if the studs are not where you need the handle.
