Hole through floor

FR left a 3" hole through the floor at the low point water drain near the water heater. I fixed it and added valves to the pex piping. Not a big thing, just want to keep the mice and squirrels out of our new TT 220.

Nice! We too discovered, after the intrusion of an uninvited guest, that there was a gaping hole alongside the exit for the black water pipe. The slipshod way they fitted the coroplast around the pipe appeared to be an afterthought.

Where did you find the valves for the low point drains? I want to add them to our trailer.

I'm not sure where Tharman got his, but I found them at Lowes. Any of the hardware and big box stores should have them.

Sharkbite fittings (or similar brand) are a bit expensive, but are press-loc fittings sealed by an o-ring. Extremely easy to install. Looking at his installation ... very well done ... unless you have a PEX crimper tool plus the brass fitting cost, Sharkbite will run about the same price. I have them on my stool and kitchen sink lines in case of a failure especialy on the stool valve.

They will screw right on the fitting that is on the pipe.

Tharmann ... your setup is a bit different than mine, did you just have caps on the ends of the fittings? My low point drain lines hang down below as yours does, but they are only the lines. I have the 2 shutoff valves about a foot up inside my conveniece center. Sorry to muddle your thread ... I just didn't think it thru very well before I responded.

Yes I did have caps at the ends of the pipes, so there was a male fitting already on the pipes but no valves anywhere.
