Hose/Cord Hanger
I like to keep my water hoses and power cord off the ground while connected. I've been using the CG power pedestal with moderate results.
Anyone use some sort of free standing hanger? Hard to get into hard ground, I suppose.

If I had a preference/was concerned, I would look at a "hose reel box".

Always helpful to get a response from an unconcerned member, .
Looking for some sort of hook(s). Don't mind them getting wet, just not dirty/muddy/sandy. Just trying to get them off the ground. Also, a box is tough on storage space.

I'm not being unconcerned nor trying to be a wise A__ ... what is your concern with leaving the water hose or power cord on the ground?

They get dirty/muddy/sandy unnecessarily. Hanging them keeps them clean. I usually coil them and hang from the CG power pedestal, but they don't stay there very well.

I use a towel to clean dirty cords. At most Provincial Parks I have to run 135 ft of power and to fill water tanks 225 ft of water hose. Just wipe them down and use some gloves.

Thanks for your explanation ... I don't think I would hang a coil of water hose on my power pedistal however. Perhaps fab yourself a few short shepherds hooks??

Yeah, something along that line (shepherds hook). Just wondered what others were doing. I can't be the only one that wants to keep them clean!

I've used J hooks on the CG Pedestals. The cable/Elec power supplies are by law in drip proof encloseures in weather locations. There's an idea for you. Hang a J hook from a "leather" headband or other adjustable material wrapped on the pedestal or nearby tree. When breaking camp put them in storage.

Put the extra under a slide or camper. If it really bothered me get a step thing for the tire to step on for pickup and put on the camper tires with a stop to keep it from sliding off.
Seen a plastic coke/ pop flat used as a pallet to put them on in real wet areas.

We use reflectors that are one a rod that can be put into the ground pretty easily and has metal loops on the road that can be used to put the hose and power cord.

If I have lots of slack cord after plugging in, I roll it up on the rear bumper of the fifth wheel. But my power plug is at the extreme rear on left side near the bumper. Do the same at home. May not keep all of it off the ground but some.

Looks like a double shepherds hook will work. For anyone interested...

Note that the cord organizer found at Home Depot is for 100 feet of 14/3 electrical cord. Electrical cord that is 14 gauge is rated for maximum 15 amps of electrical current.

We use smaller shepherds hooks. They were originally for Halloween decorations that no longer work. They are about 3 feet off the ground when set up. Once hooked up I just loop the excess hose or electrical cable and hang them on the hook.

You're not. That's why we carry rags/towels so that they can be wiped clean before being stowed.

I'd rather keep them clean than clean them after they get dirty. Couple less things to do when breaking camp.
