HOT TUB?

Does anyone travel with a hot tub in their RV? Not a built in but one that you fill at the campground and then enjoy?

Nope, never seen that!
If I did I would laugh my butt off and have to take a pic!

Ps. I would say some cg's would frown on this

The inflatables would work but the water and power is a different item. I would think in the west the water use would be frowned on

It's an interesting thought, but as others stated I have to wonder what the campground would think. Since I stay in primarily state parks, besides the amount of water it consumes, I have to wonder about the disposal of it.

Logistically speaking, it would have to be considered grey water, and the state parks here in LA will fine you if you dump grey water on the ground. Most of the parks don't have full hookups, so it would require getting the grey water to a dump station, which would be a considerable amount of water (150 gallons +).

Not a hot tub but have seen a lot of small blow up kiddie pools at beach area campgrounds before. Ocean lakes comes to mind and they allow them

At home we have a CalSpas 3 person spa. It weighs about 550 pounds empty, and holds about 225 gallons of water (1876 pounds). Fully loaded, it just barely exceeds the limits of the cargo area in my toy hauler. It's 5'6" by 7', so it would fit perfectly. I'm just speaking theoretically, but you'd have to really love hot tubs to want to bring one with you. Never mind the 220v 30A GFI power requirement, as well as the 30+ minute fill time and the 5 hour heat time, then the dumping of the water.

At the easy rider rodeo in Ohio, someone had a portable pool that they had the water going through a turkey fryer to heat the water. It was crazy.

I go sand camping at this one event every year and a friend usually brings a hot tub out on the sand, has a big generator, even one night we took it out for a ride on the sand about a half mile to a place called "banshee hill" took 3 trucks to pull it there its good fun!

Heres a pic:

We've come to a conclusion. We have researched and found that yes, it is possible to have a traveling hot tub but we feel it would just add alot more work to the whole camping experience. We have a nice hot tub at home and usually sit in it when we are not on the road so we feel we can live without it for a few days here and there.
