How do you store an in-line water filter?

We use a 2 filter system I attach at the source after the pressure regulator. The first is a 1 micron sediment filter, the second a 1/2 micron block carbon filter. The cost of the pair is about 30 bucks. They get thrown away at the end of the season. We first used the blue filters but they allow too much iron and silt through. Those blue filters are 10 microns. In the filter world that is a hole big enough to drive a truck through. I got the housing and filters at the RV Filter Store.

I have the same plus another filter in Whirlpool refrigerator. Buy those on Amazon for 1/3 the cost of Whirlpool filter.

I should add that we stay at same campground for 3 months and so use it daily.
