Ice in your tanks

Had a friend tell me a way to clean your tank sensors. After you dumped flushed, add a 20lb bag of ice on your way to the new campsite. Haven't tried it. Anyone out there heard of this?

Heard of it, but haven't tried it. There is a thread dedicated to that subject here. I'm at work, maybe someone with more time on there hands can find it for you.

Heard of it many times.

We use the geo method.
To keep tanks and sensors clean.
Fyi never leave your tanks dry between trips !

No only that, it puts a bad taste on the rum.

I use the Geo method. Really do not worry about sensor levels. when wife tells me there is water in shower. I know its time to dump it. LOL Then when we are ready to head home I dump the black and flush it off before draining grey. Only put water back in black, never have had any problems.

I also use the Geo method along with rinsing every now and then and have even added a bag of ice at the gas station occasionally to knock off some of the crud. The ice will help, but only for a bit of time before the sensor was misreading again.

I think the only useful solution seems to be to upgrade the sensors (which I haven't done), or just learn to live with it. I've always been able to estimate the gray water tank and can just look down the bowl to see the black so not really motivated to do that mod (yet).
