IR to UHF converter

Dish network used to have a "kit" which is "discontinued " to convert a IR receiver and remote into a uhf remote so that the receiver could be out of sight.
Pt. Number ES123804
Anybody know of an alternative?
With having hopper with joey in the home the "only" receiver allowed to used with the tailgater is the 211k or v series which is IR.

Any help would be great.

I want to be able to put it in my basement.
An ir extender won't fix that no?

Uhf remote doesn't "need" to see the receiver to change channels whereas a IR does.

The one I posted will...

Takes the ir converts it to rf then converts it back to ir on the other end

Turbs, I have been checking out the same thing for several weeks.
The one I have seen recommended most is this one:
Amazon.com: Next Generation Remote Control Extender: Electronics

Have even seen some satellite dealers recommending it.

ive used several diff ones before.....they all have quirks and lag to some extent. if you put the ir blaster on the they work much better.

i will say that one issue we have see is that newer led tvs/lights seem to cause a lot of the problems people are having.

i have a hard wired system in the bedroom of my sticks and bricks home. had to switch out all the recievers newer ones that werent affected by the led/lcd/cfl interfererence.....

amazon has a great return policy tho! ...always a plus to using them for stuff!
