Leaky shower head...

Does everyone's shower head leak even when shut off? Mine has leaked since we bought the camper. I didn't realize how much water passed thru until this past weekend when we camped without a water connection. Even with the head switched off the pump would barely stop running and then kick on again. I ended up shutting the faucet off as well.

Thanks,

Thanks! I will add this to my list of Warranty issues for next month. They may laugh at it, but they can't ignore my entire list!

we replaced the cheap showerhead with an Oxygenics and are so glad we did.
amazing power, even with the water pump and it uses less water.

Actually, they are designed to flow a small amount of water when "shut-off". This prevents getting a shot of freezing or scalding water when turned back "on".
In most RV water systems, the slight pressure differences in the hot and cold water lines will allow the hot or cold water be pushed backward in the wrong line if the shower head is shut off completely.
If this "leak" really bothers you, go to Lowe's or Home Depot and buy a shower cut-off valve to install on the faucet to shower hose or shower hose to shower head.

The head is not designed as a cut off valve for the shower. Unless taking a shower, you correct about turning of the faucets. During a shower, the slightly leaking head helps, to a small degree, in tempering the arctic blast when you turn the head back on.

I am with bikendan - replaced my shower head with an Oxygenics
the major improvement was the fact that I can take a longer shower versus the old shower would get cold before I was done

the shower head shut off is not designed to turn it off completely like stated above

this is the shower head I have Etl - Oxygenics Body Spa RV Showerhead - White - Shower - Camping World

Thanks for the info. They replaced the head and it still "leaks" a little (on purpose I am told), but nothing like it used to. It is much better now.
