The ones like ours,,, in the floor of the storage compartment are very easy to cover !!!
With ours it is a PITA to return cord to storage compartment !!!
I totally understand why you want to change yours,,,
When we have ours plugged in & in storage,,, I spray the cord with Critter Repellent !!!

You can buy the milk crates on Amazon. For SOME reason, the brown ones are cheaper! I have about 6 of 'em. A 20 or 30 lb propane tank also fits perfectly into one. They have many uses. DO NOT steal one!

If I am traveling, it makes no difference. The cord is the VERY FIRST thing I do, before unhooking, so if it's laying in back of truck, it comes out and gets hooked up immediately, so why roll it up just to drive down the road? If I am breaking camp, I just throw it in back of truck on top of everything else, knowing it's going to come out immediately when I get to destination.

BUT.......I do have an extension cord (it's needed to reach the plug at our farm) and I use the cord reel like the post TonyShope made.

I also have another short, 15' extension cord I use 90% of the time. Most new campgrounds have the pedestal in the middle now, so a 36' cord is just a pile of "in the way". I got a 15' extension cord, and a 3 foot 50-to-50 adapter, and don't even use the big anaconda. I guess I use an Anaconda Baby. LOL

Since the 1st thing you should connect it power throw the darn thing right in the door. On the floor where it is in your way. 1st in last out. ie open door connect, pack and leave. 1st in last out
i like that idea!

I too want to have a 30 amp cord with a 50 amp female end, and would like it to be 20' long as most spots we were camped at last year were very near the power pole.
Where did you get that cord? I've been looking all over for it.
Our 40' 50 amp cord is getting to much to handle. Only have one AC.
