mod for access to water heater bypass

We have a 2017 Cherokee Grey wolf and the bypass valve can only be accessed by crawling on our belly through the forward storage compartment.Was wondering if anyone has made an easier access through bottom of closet door above the water heater. It's hard on us oldies to crawl though that compartment. Thank you for any ideas

I would appreciate the diagram if still available.
I have a 2106 Grey wolf and yes, it is a PITA to get to the bypass valve.
