Yes, this does preclude a prolonged deployment with screens, lights, etc...where a manual awning may make more sense.

So, I suggest one's preference is based upon intended use.

And I absolutely love my power awning.
We leave our power awning out 24-7 for 3 months every year in FL. Never take it in with our poles. I tilt one end for rain run off and leave it out. What good is an awning if you have to put it in when it rains.

Can a new RV be ordered with a manual awning instead of a power one?

I leave ours out for 5 or 6 months, providing I have the add-a- room on. It has been out in some mean storms. I would not leave it out alone unintended. When you see the inside bulging it is not good. IMO.

Agreed...I leave mine out in the rain...but not in severe stormy rain or high windy rain or overnight rain. Just my preference to play it conservatively and retract when I'm not using it...otherwise, it is deployed.

Glad you feel comfortable keeping yours deployed 24/7...it looks very inviting!

Just ordered this last night. Can't beat it for the price, let's hope it's as good as they say.
